Who am I? I’m just a girl who makes the world a more beautiful place one book at a time.
I firmly believe that art is the single most important civilizing factor for humankind, be it a song, a myth, a sculpture, or a story. Indeed, I consider an appreciation of the arts, especially the written word, to be the mark of a civilized society. Humankind forged itself by telling stories around a campfire, and it’s my dream to keep that tradition alive.
That’s where you come in. You’re passionate about telling stories and sharing your vision with the world – and I’m passionate about making your story the best it can be. I want every last one of your readers to see the world you’ve created and believe in that world.
My vitals: I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama-Huntsville with a double major in English and art history. I worked for four years as a journalist, then for three as a copy editor. For another two years, I worked as a technical writer and editor. Additionally, I am certified in copy editing.
As a published writer myself, I’ve been where you are. I understand how you feel about your story and that red pen of doom. That’s why in my editing practice, I strive to involve you every step of the way. You’ll always have the final say when I make suggestions, and you’ll always get to approve my changes. And if you so choose, I’ll work with you on plot points and development so that your vision is even stronger.
As far as I’m concerned, if you give me the honor of editing your work, then your work becomes my passion, too. Nothing would give me greater happiness than knowing that your work, your vision, receives the appreciation and readership it deserves!
